New method of release of 2D seismic

In the map viewer, the appearance and the manner of disclosing 2D seismic data is revamped. The new design offers a more structured overview of the available seismic data.

Now, the raw field data (pre-stack) is accommodated in a dedicated section, and the new map layer offers the possibility to filter by this data type, among others. In addition to the already accessible 2D seismic data, the newly acquired and reprocessed seismic lines from the EBN SCAN programme are now available via the map viewer. Previously, these seismic lines were only downloadable via their dedicated NLOG page. With this update, not only the appearance is refreshed, but also more 2D seismic data and metadata is disclosed from one central location.

To release the seismic data with the updated appearance on NLOG, the seismic data is being transferred to a new database environment. This data migration is not fully completed yet and will continue for some time. Until this data migration is completed, the old 2D seismic datasets – along with their familiar appearance – will remain available via the map and the data center. Below, a status overview of the data migration is shown, indicating which 2D seismic data can be found in the new and old map layers.

Apart from the data migration, work is in progress to scan and digitize physical seismic data stored in our archive, which will be disclosed on NLOG as well.
